English is the language of science, but not all scientists are born writers.

Neither are all people working at a university scientists, nor do all aspiring students understand academic jargon. A common language should start from the smallest denominator; that’s the principle behind simple writing, which engineers know as controlled language.

I am a contract translator for a German university and have worked for various institutes and researchers in Berlin and elsewhere.

My projects include administrative regulations, journal articles, website copy or even PhD papers. Besides translation, I offer academic proofreading, which has helped several researchers get their papers accepted by notable journals.
